This new state-of-the-art four-story, 130,000-square-foot building includes a variety of features, including ones new to the Baltimore area. One of the innovative features of the new facility is a 14-bed Observation and Clinical Decision Unit where patients can be held for observation for up to 24 hours. In the clinical decision unit, members can avoid emergency room visits for evaluation of conditions, or for brief therapy such as IV antibiotics or drugs to treat asthma.
