DR. MANISH JAIN is one of two assistant chiefs for adult primary care in the D.C. and the D.C. Maryland suburbs for the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group, P.C. Dr. Jain is a native Washingtonian and has lived his entire life in the D.C. metro area.
He received his medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine and completed his residency and chief residency at Washington Hospital Center. He spent one year doing critical care and emergency triage as well as running the Intermediate Care Unit at Washington Hospital Center before trying out a hospitalist opportunity in Winchester, Virginia.
He soon saw the light and found his true calling in primary care medicine, and has been with the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group, P.C., since July 2005. He has taken on many different roles during that time, previously serving as a cluster coding champion, interim medicine service chief, a member of the quality co-committee, and a member of the Scripts and Protocols Oversight Committee. He was recently named the physician site lead for the new Kaiser Permanente Northwest D.C. Medical Office Building, which is scheduled to open in 2012.
Dr. Jain is married and his wife is an internist at the Kaiser Permanente Gaithersburg Medical Center. He has a young son and daughter and enjoys spending time with his family and traveling in his spare time.
